1. When prices are INCREASING, fill up as often as convenient. I don't go out of my way to fill up, but I fill up as often as I can (typically at 3/4 tank or above). Fill up now since tomorrow's price will be higher.

2. When prices are DECREASING, fill up only when the tank is low (typically less than 1/4 tank). Put off filling up as much as possible since tomorrow's price will be cheaper than today's price.

3. When prices are STABLE, fill up only when passing by my preferred low cost station. (Don't waste gas to go find gas.)

NORAD and the US and Canadian Governments and Military have been giving this clearance since either the late 1950's or early 1960's. It may be getting a little dated, but "arrogance"? Where is your Christmas Spirit?
