Gas Prices Are Out of (Your) Control

No, gas prices aren't out of control compared with the rest of the world, however, the past week's action in gas prices does show that gas prices remain out of your control, specifically. A spike often has nothing to do with actual consumption, little to do with dynamics in the oil market supply chain, but amounts to much ado about geopolitical risks dominating the headlines.

If the price goes up or down by $0.50 per gallon that's $20 a month difference. If that makes or breaks you, you have other problems. Your cable or cell phone bill is way bigger than that.

It took forever to get gas under $3 a gallon in Austin, Texas and now Las Vegas NV. is cheaper than Austin, Texas. It took only a matter of weeks for gas stations to jump as much as 40 cents a gallon. Shame on them ripping off the public!
