Ford's little engine that could challenge hybrids

Might be a nice car. Cannot wait to see it in operation. Probably a good city car but not for the highway.

Probably no get up n go, and feels like being inside a tin can. I am all for the better gas mileage but want something comfortable for travel and one that makes me feel safe!

If it is durable, reliable, lasts 200k, I much rather own it than some goofy hybrid. Got the right idea about keep the weight down. It probably make a good airplane motor as well. Would like to know the bore & stroke.

Today's generation in more into gas mileage, and appearence of the car. In my day if you had limited funds it was doing some thing with the looks of the car, if you had more money, then it was the engine, trans, and rear end, to see how fast you could do the 1/4 mile.

oh PUH leeze! If they hadn't had higher mileage technology for the past few decades (than they have been selling in the US)they would never have competed in the the "global economy". Would you have bought a ford truck in the last 20 years, if you lived in a region where gas was $5-$10 per LITRE?

But they still run on an oil product at least for now, and that is what we hope to move away from in the future. Hybrid gives us that break, at least a little.
