If gas was the biggest expense maybe I would do somthing differant but an extra $300 dollars won't make me change plans.

Yes, I was able to travel, but my plans were to travel in town...
I will do some traveling next month, so it still happens... I just do a better job during the week.

We were meeting friends at the coast with our travel trailer. I calculated the trip costs and compared towing vs. going in the car and paying at LEAST $100/night for a motel/hotel plus 3 meals per day for two people for 3 days.

For a vacation weekend, taking our trailer 360 miles round trip was indeed cheaper by $200 (even with a campsite and prepping our own food) than paying for a motel and restaurants. We paid a lot for gas, but paid one heckuva lot less for total costs than staying in a motel at the coast (or anywhere). When we afford to vacation locally, we can do so cheaper by towing a travel trailer than moteling it.

Just think, next year we'll be talking about this as the good ol' days of cheap gas, isn't it. I don't even want to think of how high gas will be next year at this time. Should have kept my horse.

Wanted to visit family in florida but couldn't go because of the gas situation. It is hard for me to get vacation and when I finally could, I can't see my family.

I traveled but I slowed down. At 65 mph I got 26 mpg at 70 I got 24 mpg and at 75 I got 22.7 mpg. Travel is still possible but we need to slow down just a bit. Not 85 or 90.

I notice the ARCO station on the corner of Texas st and el cajon blvd.Gas was $4.06,$416,$426 i Believe. Also the gas station right across the street from it was the same. But the Arco station on the corner of Fairmont and orange ave gas was $4,09 $,19 $4,29 i believe. So there I was sitting in my car on empty.Trying 2 figure out what 2 do,cause i don,t want 2 get gas.So i broke down and ended up at the Arco station on 33rd st and el cajon blvd 3296 address.I,ve only been putting $10 of gas in my car I refuse 2 put any more. But yesterday I put $25.So this will b the last time 4 me a bike or a scooter sound really great now!!.

Yes. We drove in the early morning with less traffic and potential for traffic jams. Used the boat a whole lot less (about 80% less) and spent less than normal at current prices.

RayRatt, you seem to always find something at fault with somebody's post. lol. But I have to agree with you on this one. $300 in gas, 75 gallons is a lot for a tow. Even at 8mpg, he should be able to go 600mi. I doubt he drove 300mi to tow his friend back 300mi.
