EtOH has never been the answer to fuel problems in this country. Esp. not EtOH from corn and other FOOD products.
This would be an ideal time to step back and rethink, alas, it's not going to happen - if for no other reason than it's a political year and election/electability is more important than solving real issues.

No Fuel From Food! NO ETHANOL NEEDED OR WANTED! No Waiver issued! No taxpayer funded subsidies! What stinking global warming? Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Ethanol is not worth the trouble and cost. It should never have been put into usage in the first place. Now we see the mistakes come into easy sight.

Texas Petro-Terrorists Built a new $20 Billion dollar refinery in Texas but before they did that they went around the country and bought up refineries to close them so they can control all the oil in the country from Texas.
They also want an increase in the ethanol refineries because it's a lot cheaper to refine ethanol than crude BUT they can sell it in gas for the same price as gas, 15% of a gal of gas is ethanol their cost goes down considerably but profits skyrocket up. Just because ethanol production reduces food crops does not matter as long as profits go up.

Reuters is probably advising investors to invest in corn futures and anything that would be used to supplement the shortfall. All of which will only guarantee higher prices before we even see the shortage.

Has ethanol been the success that farm subsidy takers say it is. Who is to benefit from the waiver, really?

I wonder if this could also be the reason for higher gas prices. Pig Oil helping America's corn farmers. Someone's getting "kickbacks" damn sure isn't the average person filling their tanks!!
