What's taking so long. You a purchase all the stuff to convert a gasoline engine to run on CNG so why won't they just build them at the factory.

who do they propose foots the bill for the power stations for the electric cars they wanted ; if they scrap that project and move on to natural gas products. After answering that one, whose gona pay for the new natural gas distribution system. Whoops, I forgot; eventually all we have to do is run water from our faucets to get natural gas in our homes. Guess we just need to know how to get it from the faucet to the tank in our cars ;)

Increase the need for N. Gas, then the price will corresponding increase. Gasoline does not fuel the furnaces of N. America; Natural gas in probably the major residential heating fuel; probably rightfully so; right where it is needed. Natural gas, probably the same outcome as propane; power resulting from these gases are not as powerful as gasoline and not as effective in colder climates. Careful in what you wish for, as it may not be the panacea for the ultimate fuel. It states, 20 state governors; curious if they are all from the southern states.

This would only be good for fleet vehicles that stay within a particular area and can fill up in their pool area. There still isn't a viable infrastructure to support these vehicles as yet.

We have CNG stations here in Las Vegas as we have a number of delivery vehicles using that as well as some private cars.

Early efforts to market CNG cars to U.S. consumers flopped, so natural gas producers have a lot to gain if the effort to jump-start the industry drives up demand for the gas."
I can't believe the above statement! When did they try to market CNG cars? Only the Honda Civic and I can't travel 27 miles to the dealer to get gas. I heard the Dodge Ram has a truck on CNG came out in July but have never seen one yet in my area, and where is the fill up stations?

The more demand for CNG using vehicles the higher CNG prices will be - soon approaching the level of gasoline.

I'm sure if everyone started using natural gas vehicles, its price would go up just like gasoline has.

If the state governments can get these vehicles rolling then the infrastructure would follow. Sounds good in theory.

It’s a chicken-and-egg thing. CNG vehicles are not practical until the support infrastructure is available but no one wants to install the fueling stations, etc., until there are vehicles to use them.

Can't be much more complicated than engines that have been running on propane for years. Just get the fueling stations in place.

We have a large fleet (actually several) using NG here in Nevada and we have stations as well, though not widely advertised.

The Obama administration doesn't care about CNG, only the electric vehicles. Detroit has to keep Washington satisfied to keep the dollars coming.
